Penelope is an experienced tutor, from beginners to aspiring professionals.

She teaches with classical technique, believing this to be the healthiest way to develop the voice, but is very happy to teach repertoire of all styles. She has helped many experienced amateur choral singers find their 'own' voice and experiment with solo repertoire for the first time.

​

Penny has a particular knack for finding visualisations and methods to help each individual achieve the desired technical results, and above all, lessons are informal and fun.

​

As well as her private teaching Penny has experience teaching for County Music Services, and vocal one-to-one and group coaching for early music singers at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire. She teaches both in person and on Zoom.​ 

 

She is also available to lead masterclasses and workshops on solo and choral singing for choirs and small ensembles, at any level. 

​

Although as a performer she is primarily a singer, Penny has holds a DipABRSM and Trinity Performer's Certificate on flute, this having been her first study for many years.
